Defend Marxism- Leninism- Maoism

December 26th is the Birthday of the  Comrade Mao Tse -Tung. The Maoist Parties and the Communists of the world celebrated the 119th Birthday of  the  great leader Comrade Mao Tse-Tung, with a great enthusiasm and revolutionary spirit. Communist Party of India (M-L) [Naxalbari], Communist (Maoist) Party of Afghanistan, Maoist Communist Party – Italy released a joint press statement. Likewise on 26 December a joint statement was released by 9 organisations, including Arab Maoists.  But it is a matter to surprise that newly formed NCP-Maoist Party did not show any graveness to remember  Comrade Mao, and his contributions. They released a press statement of for sentences, just for formality. In fact, it was an unwillingly released press statement.  Not only this, daily news paper Janadish, the organ of CPN-Maoist also did not speak even a single word on the  birthday anniversary of Comrade Mao Tse-Tung.

To remember Comrade Mao means to stand on the side of proletarian revolution and to denounce all types of revisionism, eclecticism and liquidationism. We appreciate the declaration of Arab Maoists and other organizations, and express our strong solidarity with them.

As they have mentioned: “We reaffirm the validity of Marxism Leninism Maoism as the science of the world proletarian revolution. We defend the legacy of our teachers Marx, Engels, Lenin, Stalin and Mao; the historical experience of the international workers movement, learning from their victories and defeats in the great battles to build the organization International of the Communist, to lead the masses to the triumph of the Revolution of New Democracy and Socialism, and to build the new State of the Dictatorship of the Proletariat. We reaffirm our unwavering determination to fight for the unity in a new Communist International based in Marxism- Leninism- Maoism absolutely necessary to lead the world proletarian revolution to victory over the imperialist system.”

Yes, now the time has come to unite for the new Revolutionary Communist Movement, based in Marxism- Leninism- Maoism. On Comrade Mao’s Birthday, we call for defense of Marxism- Leninism- Maoism and the rejection of all types of revisionism, specially Prachand-Baburam’s Neo-revisionism (? it will be better to call them neo-reactionaries ) and the liquidationist approach of RCP, USA.

It is a matter to note that in the name of the ‘transitional period’, The CPN-Maoist is in the way to make ‘good relation’ with the Dengist China. The secret and frequently visit of China by Comrade Biplav,  secretary of the CPN- Maoist is its evidence. Even the member of International Department of CPN-Maoist are unknown about his visit to China. Not only this, Comrade Biplav’s secret meeting with Baburam Bhattarai, has created a lot of questions and confusions  within the party cadres. To make good relation with Dengists and Baburam Bhattarai the Indian agent, means, to deny Comrade Mao’s contributions and to discard the role of Maoism in the Nepalese Revolution.

Even the document presented by Comrade Kiran, to the 7th  National Congress, is not clear in the various issues, including revolutionary line. The document is full of ambiguousness. This document is silent on the issue of Chinese Neo-Capitalists. This document is not clear in the International Communist Movement too. This document pleads identity politics and it has given more  importance to the identity based federal system than the New Democratic Revolution. We all know, most of the pleaders of identity politics are  NGO holders and followers of ‘clash of civilization’.

There are 14 days left to the 7th National Congress. It is a matter of pleasure that after 21 years the National Congress of the Maoist party is going to be held. Near about one thousand representatives will attend the Congress. But, frankly, I would like to express that things are not going in the right direction and the consequences will not take place as we revolutionaries are thinking and hoping. Cadres are very enthusiastic. They are ready for the all types of sacrifice, but the leaders are not competent to address the revolutionary cadre’s spirit. What the leaders want is not clear, where they want to move is not clear. They are loaded with bureaucratic mind and mentality.

It is the matter to note that, CPN-Maoist activities have proved that they want good relation with Dengist not Maoists. They don’t want to show any relation with the other Maoist Parties and organizations, particularly to those parties and organizations, who are waging People’s War.  That’s why, they were passive in the Hamburg Conference too. We all know, Hamburg Conference was organized to support the People’s war in India.

But we, we Nepalese revolutionary intellectuals and the revolutionary cadres within CPN-Maoists always stand on the side of MLM and the great People’s War. To support the Peoples War in India means to stand on the side of oppressed people’s of the world.

Mao is not only the name of a person, and Maoism is not just a terminology, it is the guiding principle of 21st century revolution.

Now, it is the time to make clear our side. For the liberation of the Nepalese people, for the safeguard of the National Sovereignty’ we have to make clear our party line. It is the reality that,  there is one and only one way to march a head, that is waging again the Protracted People’s War, going back to the gorilla warzone and building the new Base Areas.

Let us move forward for the defense of Marxism-Leninism-Maoism.  Let us denounce all types of revisionism –liquidationism  and eclecticism.

Imperialism has no future! The future belongs to communism.

The report by Comrade Rishi Raj Baral gives the impression that the internal document of the Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist for the forthcoming Party Congress is in some way final.

It is to be noted that this is a draft document for internal discussion only and should be respected strictly as coming under the rules of democratic centralism in pre-congress discussion.

Comrade Rishi Raj Baral can present his view on Federal State Structure, China and New Democratic Revolution & any other issues he may think that the document should address and call for Protracted People’s War to the Party Congress or he himself can present entirely different paper for discussion in the congress itself. The party has safeguarded his rights to present another paper for the discussion. And, it is imperative that comrade Rishi Raj Baral exercise his rights.

The delegates to the Congress will determine the outcome.

The Congress should not be pre judged in the negative way that Comrade Rishi Raj Bara has already done – let us call for respect the universally agreed method of how communists arrive at collective party decisions, democratic centralism.

As I know Comrade Baral has submitted his 10 pages suggsstion to the Party Headquarter and he has requested to flow his opinion publicly. When the party document has been distributed publicly, why not Comrade Baral? The party constitution also has directed to flow his opinion publicly. We, most of the revolutionary cadres of CPN-Maoist are convinced with the opinion expressed by Comrade Baral. Instead of To give advice to Comrade Baral the top leaders should think over it.Yes, they are not competent to address the spirit of the young and revolutionary cadres. Now the time has come to handover the leadership to the second generation.

Today in the International Communist Movement there is a trend that has replaced the term ‘Mao Zedong thought’ with ‘Maoism.’The advocates of this trend slander those who uphold Mao Tse Tung thought as revisionists and claim to be defending Mao’s mass line.True some of the greatest peoples wars have been led by parties deploying the use of the term ‘Maoism’like the Peruvian Communist Party and more recently the C.P.I.(Maoist) and the Communist Party of Phillipines. However it is worth recounting how this ideology ultimately made the P.C.P.replace the mass line with the military line when it propounded Gonzalo thought and ultimately capitulated in the late 1990’s.’Maoism’ also led to revisionist leanings of the R.C.P.,(U.S.A.) creating the ideology of the ‘New Synthesis.’Maoism’ also led to further divirgencies from the R.C.P,like the Kasama project that virtually delinks Mao’s ideology from that of Marx and Lenin. On the other hand it was a also the root of Maoism-third worldsim that denies the role of the proletariat in the advanced capitalist countries. The advocating of ‘Maoism’ by the Revolutionary Internationalist Movement and it’s earlier inclination towards this ism led to it’s virtual disintegration.Infact although leading a huge armed movement the inclination of ‘Maoism’ was displayed in the left sectarian lines of the Maoist Communist Centre and the Peoples War Group for over 2 decades in the period when they were upholding ‘Mao Tse Tung Thought.’Infact it was Mao Tse Tung Thought that enabled them to develop the concept of the vanguard party in practice and not ‘Maoism’.Similarly the Communist Party of Phillipines adopted its great rectification campaigns in 1992 using the pretext of ‘Mao Tse Tung Thought and not Maoism.Morally the Communist Party of Phillipines upholds Mao Tse Tung Thought and uses ‘Maoism’only as a Synonymn.

It is a fact that almost all the groups using the term Mao Tse Tung Thought in India are more or less revisionist like C.P.I.(M.L.)Liberation,C.P.I.(M.L.) New Democracy,C.P.I.(M.L.)Janashakti,C.P.I.(M.L.)-Red Star etc. who have virtually capitulated. However remember the number of erstwhile groups that upheld Mao Tse Tung Thought for decades in the revolutionary camp like Unity Centre Centre of Communist Revolutionaries of India, Central Team-C.P.I.(M.L.), Maoist Communist Centre,C.P.I.(M.L.)Peoples War group,C.P.I.(M.L.) Party Unity group, who played an invaluable role in building the foundations of the revolutionary party and movement.Mao Tse Tung Thought and not Maoism led to the formation of organizations like those mentioned above as well as the Communist Party Re-Organization Centre of India(Marxist-Leninist)-C.P.R.C.I.(M.L.) now. The mass line that comrades like T.Nagi Reddy and D.V.Rao struggled for against that of Charu Mazumdar was related to their grasp of ‘Mao Zedong Thought’ as against ‘Maoism.’

Within the camp of ‘Mao Tse Tung Thought’ there is an erroneous trend propogated by K.N.Ramchandran tha negates the role of the Chinese concept party in building the proletarian revolutionary line and accused the C.C.P.of practicing Lin Biaoism. This is a false pretext as the C.P.C.did its upmost to rectify the infection of Lin Biao in the 1973 Party Congress.Terming the C.P.C.as Lin Biaoist virtually reduces the C.P.C to a revisionist party and negates it’s great contribution in the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution.’Mao Tse Tung Thought’ is the Marxism or Marxism-Leninism of the current era as it a thesis and higher stage but not a new ear as ‘Maoism’ implies.

By ‘Maoism’ we ushering in a new era and negating the era of Imperialism as propounded by Lenin. It means we are replacing the era of Imperialism with that of era of ‘peoples Wars.’True Comrade Mao developed the military concept of protracted peoples war but that thesis is a formulation for semi-colonial ,semi-feudal societies and not necessarily for developed countries. Mao also discovered that antagonistic classes existed within Socialist Societies and developed the concept of continuous revolution under the dictatorship of the proletariat which took Marxism-Leninism to a higher stage. However calling it Maoism would mean we have reached the era of ‘Maoism’ ,a higher stage than that of Imperialism.

In defending the polemics of Mao Tse Tung Thought as against Maoism the late Comrade Harbhajan Singh Sohi of India made the biggest contribution ,through his writings on the 86 th birthday of Mao and his later polemical writings.Another important contribution has been made by Sunder Navalkar, editor of a revolutionary journal Jasood, who upholds Mao Tse Tung Thought against Maoism, tooth and nail but still upholds the virtues of the practice of the C.P.I.(Maoist).There is also a useful polemic by Lal Salaam of the Re-organizing committee Communist League of India defending Mao Tse Tung thought in contrast to the Rahul foundation.

This things confuses me. I think words doesn’t really matter without definitions. Mao Tse Tung Thought and Maoism doesn’t have a given definition. Its the individual or group/organization that define them.
