See through the conspiracy of the ruling classes to launch bigger offensives on the people using the 25 May attack as a pretext

Unite, Fight back and Defeat the ‘War on People’

The gangster community that made Indian Parliament its lair is in panic. Terrified. Aflutter. Seething. Fuming. Up in arms. Baying for blood. Baring its fangs. Spitting poison. After all the May 25 Jeeramghati attack struck down one of their best trusted lieutenants in field. Quite Understandable.

Actually speaking, the scamster-gangster bunch does not care much for Mahendra Karma’s death because they knew that this was something waiting to happen even when they were carrying on mayhem and murder under Salwa Judum (SJ) which they all had contributed to create or let pester like senators watching gladiatorial contests in amphi-theaters, with Karma as SJ’s public face and with the support of fascist central and state mercenary armed forces. They are frightened more because in this country where every kind of exploitation, oppression, suppression, corruption and scam is carried on almost unchallenged, as the order of the day and shamelessly under public gaze, the fact that somebody ‘out there’ can bring these fascist scamster-gangsters to book and deliver justice is not so easy to stomach. It is like finding oneself completely naked and vulnerable with all robes of Z plus securities and paraphernalia of security suddenly vanishing into thin air with the fury of the suppressed masses breathing down their necks. Highly explicable. A strong reason to be upset.

Who knows who will be next? More chillingly, what would be in store if people completely vexed with the increasingly unbearable treacherous, undemocratic, slavish and wicked anti-people deeds of the pet-dog politicians choose to consider this as an option to vent their ire to put an end to their habitual comprador performance? Even worse, what if they consider doing away with the whole bunch by overthrowing the parliamentary system as the Maoists vouch to and call upon the people to follow? Very worrying indeed.

And for once it is better that they be. They better understand that not every politician can get away with the kind of neo-fascist suppression of the poorest of the poor of this country that was perpetrated in the name of a Salwa Judum, a Sendra, a Shanti Yatra, a Shanti Sena, a Harmad Bahini, a Bhairav Bahini, a TPC or an Operation Green Hunt, can get away with selling the riches of our country one by one as a daily routine at breakfast, lunch and dinner to fill the insatiable black-hole belly of the imperialist beast, can get away with turning every word that gives meaning to our existence as human beings like freedom, independence, sovereignty, self-reliance and democracy meaningless. They better realize for the umpteenth time (counting all such instances since the days of a Spartacus) that a people crushed so cruelly can never take everything lying down forever. For once it is better that they be alarmed.

Karma, a medieval type land lord, architect of SJ, looter, sadist, rapist and enemy of his own tribe; most of his security men, cannon fodder but undoubtedly deployed to aid in his mayhem and massacre; some SJ leaders; and some top Congress leaders were wiped out in the 25 May incident. Unfortunately a few others who got caught in the initial firing also died in spite of our sincere efforts to minimize the casualties once the main targets were caught and Comrade Gudsa Usendi, the Spokesperson of our Party’s DK unit had already tendered apology for it. The list of brutalities perpetrated by Karma and his ilk could fill many a volume. Though not all, many of them have been documented in detail by the CPI (Maoist), revolutionary and democratic mass organizations, civil and human rights organizations, democrats, journalists and concerned citizens for all those who want to see. There is no purpose to the various conspiracy theories doing their rounds in the media about the reasons for this attack other than diverting the people’s attention from the truth. An unabashed conspiracy by the corporate media to hide the truth about the brutality of the SJ and the role of the Indian Army, big corporate houses, central and state governments, the Congress and BJP parties and slaughterers like Karma in its creation and developing it into a man-eating monster. Such is its impatience to get rid of the Maoists that it did not even take into account that SJ was termed illegal by their own highest institution the Supreme Court. And all of them including Jairam Ramesh have once again repeated the most nonsensical and exhausted argument of ‘sandwich theory’ that Adivasis are being crushed between the armed forces on one side and the Maoists on the other. If they really believe in this then why don’t they demand first that the armed forces deployed in lakhs by the central and state governments be immediately withdrawn when they are agreeing that they suppress Adivasis? Their lies fly in their face with the fact that the overwhelming majority of Maoists are Adivasis in the strong areas of the movement. Our Party reiterates that we never work against the interests of the people. It is solely the ruling classes and their forces that suppress the people and our Party fights it back

Let all the people’s enemies face the truth – the plain simple naked truth. Our Party and the PLGA defend the right of the people to defend themselves from oppressors and looters and on May 25 our brave PLGA guerillas led the people from the front to eliminate one of the arch enemies of the revolutionary people of India, particularly Dandakaranya people and more particularly Bastar people and some other people’s enemies as part of their broader resistance to big landlords and corporate exploitation and loot. And we take this occasion to deafeningly declare one more time that our PLGA would continue defending the people and their right to defend themselves and would lead them from the front as long as government forces, state-sponsored vigilante gangs and class enemies continue their ‘War on People’. For, the oppressed have nothing without the People’s Army.

This is as much as the 25 May incident is concerned. But what we really want to draw the attention of the people to is the perplexing way in which democracy comes up for discussion only when such attacks happen. Isn’t it too much of an oddity that it becomes the rarest of the rarest available commodity in the market square of the Parliament and is up for sale only when the toiling masses do a Bhagat Singh in some remote corners of our country? In fact, we are also weary of the manner in which we Maoists also make headlines only during such incidents. So for a change, why don’t we look at what is happening as a routine in our daily lives to make democracy or Maoism a topic of everyday relevance?

True to its social fascist character the CPI (M) politburo demanded “firm action” to put an end to “these Maoists depredations” and urged “all democratic forces to fight the politics of violence by the Maoists” and all the major political parties from Congress and BJP to SP and JD (U) went over the top in condemning this attack without speaking a single word about the actual reasons behind it. Corporate media was at its lying best and bayed for the blood of the Maoists more than any other so-called democratic institutions, bootlicking scoundrel that it is. The meeting on internal security with the Chief Ministers and the later all-party meeting both held in the aftermath of the 25 May incident described it as a “direct attack on democracy and freedom”. The CMs unanimously declared – “We strongly disagree with the ideology of the Maoists. They want to overthrow parliamentary democracy and Constitution of India through violent means… this must be resisted with all our might.” They resolved “to use all legitimate means at their disposal” to counter the activities of the CPI (Maoist) and barked that they would not tolerate it or compromise about it.

“We appeal to the youth of the affected states to give up violence and pursue their goals through legitimate and democratic means. We assure them that we are sensitive to their concerns and will make every effort to bring them into the mainstream of social and political life,” the resolution added. The same feeling was expressed at the all-party meeting.

Democracy? Freedom? Whose and what for? Better ask the women who were raped/gang raped and/or killed and the children who have been witnessing and are even victims of atrocities/massacres that are being committed by vigilante gangs like SJ and armed forces on their families and villages what these hollow words mean. The only democracy we see is democracy for the looters to hand over the riches of our country for peanuts to the imperialists and crave for their share in the remains. The only freedom we see is that of the armed forces to loot, destruct, rape, massacre and forcefully displace the oppressed masses for the interests of the imperialists, comprador bureaucratic bourgeoisie (CBB) and the big land lords. The Indian Parliament is one of the most rotten institutions in the world that allows and facilitates all this in the name of ‘democracy and freedom’. So what’s wrong in wanting to or calling upon to overthrow an institution that led the people of our country since six decades into a dark tunnel with no egress leaving no option but to destroy it? Have you not taught in schools that democracy is by the people, for the people and of the people? Then do the people not have a right to reject it or even overthrow it when it exists and works exactly to harm their interests? Leave aside attacks like a Tadimetla or a Jeeramghati. They are tactics and an inevitable part of people’s resistance when lakhs of forces get deployed with huge gear of modern weapons to repress them as mentioned above. Don’t reduce our political line and praxis to such attacks. CPI (Maoist) is a political party with a clear cut scientific ideology – Marxism-Leninism-Maoism, political line and political programme that would lead to the establishment of genuine democracy for the people of our country. Whoever wants to talk or write anything about Maoists better go through it first before labeling us with various names like terrorists, left wing extremists etc.

Briefly, it states – India is a semi-colonial semi-feudal country; the targets of our revolution are imperialism, the comprador bureaucratic capitalism and feudalism exploiting and oppressing the people of our country and are to be overthrown through New Democratic Revolution (NDR) to establish a People’s Democratic Federal Republic. Contradiction between feudalism and broad masses is the principal contradiction at present. During the process of resolving this contradiction through the armed agrarian revolution, which is the axis of the new democratic revolution, that is, protracted people’s war, the resolution of other contradictions will be facilitated. The semi-colonial semi-feudal character of Indian society determines that the Indian revolution would have to pass through two stages. The task of first stage is to change the semi –colonial, semi -feudal society into an independent new democratic society through the resolution of the two fundamental contradictions of the present Indian society, i.e. the contradiction of the Indian people with imperialism and the contradiction of the broad masses with feudalism. Again, in its continuity, the task of second stage is to establish the socialist system and continuing the revolution advancing towards communism on the world scale. This new democratic state will be the people’s democratic dictatorship exercised by the united front comprising the proletariat, peasantry, petty-bourgeoisie and the national bourgeoisie class under the leadership of the proletariat based upon the worker-peasant alliance. The state will guarantee real democracy for the vast majority of the people while exercising dictatorship over the tiny minority of the exploiters. This new democratic revolution will bring national independence uprooting the imperialist slavery, exploitation and control, and will establish the people’s democracy uprooting the feudal autocracy.

Workers, peasants and urban poor who form the overwhelming majority of the population in our country are living in utter poverty as victims of hunger, disease, inhuman feudal-imperialist exploitation and oppression and they would be liberated from all these through NDR. It uproots the Brahminical feudal hierarchical inhuman caste system that kept crores of Dalits and other oppressed castes in suppression since centuries and the feudal and imperialist patriarchal social system that had been exploiting and oppressing half of the population i.e., women. It destroys the Hindu chauvinist domination that had been oppressing the religious minorities in our country particularly on Muslims and Christians. Vast majority of the Adivasis have long been deprived of their land and other traditional means of livelihood without providing any alternative and have been the major victims of ‘development’ and ‘displacement’. They would live a life of dignity, freedom and self-reliance in a new democratic society.  Present day India is a prison-house of nationalities. The New Democratic state would unequivocally recognize the right to self-determination of the nationalities including the right to secession and the New Democratic India would be formed only with those states that voluntarily stay within it. The rotten, decaying, antidemocratic, anti-people, obnoxious semi-colonial and semi-feudal culture that is dominating all the spheres of our life would be destroyed. Hatred for labour, patriarchy, superstition, autocracy, imperialist slavery, national chauvinism, communalism, casteism, blind greed, self-centredness, consumerist culture, and perverted sex-centered ideology and culture would be ended. Feudal culture which is primarily the Brahminical caste-based culture of engrained superiority would be extinguished.

This state will try its best to peacefully and fairly settle border, water and other disputes with neighbouring countries and will develop friendly relations with them. This state will never exert any expansionist behaviour with the neighbouring countries. This People’s Democratic State will establish unity with the international proletariat and the oppressed nations of the world; opposes imperialist war and aggression, bullying, subversion and interference etc. It will support and help by all means the revolutionary struggles and revolutionary war, especially the ongoing struggles under the leadership of various Maoist revolutionary forces against capitalism, imperialism and reaction the world over.

A succinct 25-point programme of the People’s Democratic Federal Republic or New Democratic State is clearly laid down in the Party Programme of CPI (Maoist) for anybody who cares to go through it. Let any debates on Maoists center on it.

The ruling classes are appealing to the youth to give up violence and pursue their goals through legitimate and democratic means. Fair enough? Isn’t it common sense that even to use ‘legitimate and democratic means’ you need some semblance of democracy at least? The workers organizations/trade unions, the peasant and agricultural laborer organizations, the women’s organizations, cultural organizations, student and youth organizations and even children’s organizations are banned. Voices of writers, cultural artistes, democrats, intellectuals and their organizations are stifled. Fundamental rights get curbed on a daily basis. Draconian laws are promulgated or updated in the footsteps of the colonialists with unfailing regularity in step with the intensifying repressive measures. Courts side with the big scamster-gangsters, treacherous politicians, smugglers and criminals, while political and social activists and innocent people are thrown into jails, maimed with tortures and put to death. This is what the youth of our beloved country with huge potential to develop our country into a genuine independent sovereign prosperous democratic state is going through. The lakhs of youth that have been murdered in cold-blood by the Indian security forces in Kashmir, North-East and in the vast rural tracts of Andhra Pradesh, Dandakaranya, Bihar-Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, Maharashtra, UP, Karnataka, Assam, MP and other areas of revolutionary movement is the cream of present day India with independent creative thinking and productivity that is forming/joining democratic, national liberation and revolutionary organizations and parties to give a better shape to the future of our  beloved country. The glaring fact is that youth have taken up arms as a historic task of the oppressed masses to shape their future with their own hands relying on their own strength and their own people only after decades of recurring and frustrating failure of the Indian State to respond to their usage of ‘legitimate and democratic means’ to gain their genuine demands and rights. Appealing to them to give up arms for ‘legitimate and democratic means’ is not only putting things upside down but also a cruel joke. Youth have not taken up guns because they fancy them or in an atmosphere where there was no dearth of legitimate and democratic means or because they don’t value democracy. It is quite the opposite. They are taking up guns because they want genuine democracy. Our NDR promises exactly that, which is the exact opposite of the present pseudo one.

The government that did not even mention basic concerns of the people like land, education, health etc in the CMs meet and the all-party meet is now announcing training programmes to train thousands of youth and particularly the Adivasis and women and is promising employment to at least half the trainees. This comes under the ‘development’ package (the other being the ‘repression’ package, the package of death and destitution with which the youth are more familiar in reality). You pull away the land from under their feet, displace them from their centuries old abodes, isolate them from their traditional means of living in forests and lands and then give just a few thousands of them training that does not really make them self-reliant, with false promises of jobs for even lesser number of people. What a convoluted concept of development! Low paid jobs for a tiny section even if provided would not be enough to fulfill the basic minimum needs of a family. With access to all traditional means of subsistence that were available while living in a forest cut off and the devaluation of the rupee, the situation turns even worse. The audacity with which the ruling classes declare that ‘they are sensitive to the concerns of the youth’ baffles. As all these are sham concerns the galloping rate of unemployment and underemployment becomes the ground reality. If they are really sensitive then why are PESA, 5th and 6th Schedules and FRA that the Indian Parliament had itself passed and are ‘serious concerns of the youth’ not being implemented? One must realize that all this is done as part of the psychological warfare against the Maoist Party to wean the youth away from it.

While the PM said government was willing to talk to all ‘extremist groups’ within the ambit of Constitution at the CMs meet, Home secretary RK Singh said there was no space for talks with Maoists after May 25 incident! So much for who decides such policies. However, our party had already several times in the past categorically stated our stand on going to talks with the government. We just want to draw the attention of the people and democrats who are advocating talks with the government or seize fire to the backdrop of such offers to judge for themselves the sincerity behind such offers – not a single day passes without some operation by armed forces being carried on in the Maoist movement areas to kill, destruct, torture and rape and several of our top leaders are languishing in jails in inhumane conditions since many years denied even basic amenities and bails.

Coming to the present context, the Indian ruling classes have already been making unprecedented preparations for another big offensive to finish off the Maoists but are now trying to use the 25 May incident as the pretext for it. The upcoming elections are another strong reason behind this intensification and expansion of OGH. And it is by now a well documented and well established fact that all this is being done to forcefully implement the various MoUs for mining and other ‘development’ projects in Adivasi areas. We appeal to one and all to see through the ploy and don’t fall into the trap of thinking that incidents like May 25 are leading to more repression. In fact, massacres like in Edesmeta on May 17 where eight Adivasis including three children were killed by armed forces, just preceding it are part of the already intensified ‘War on People’. Along with massacres, the new offensive would mainly include air attacks, i.e. direct involvement of multiple units of helicopters of Indian Air Force and Unmanned Air Vehicles-Drones too. The Defence Minister said that Army would not be deployed but the fact is that the covert role of the Army has already increased manifold before and also after the May 25 attack. The preparations are on war footing like invading another country. The people of Edesmeta after the May 17 massacre put it poignantly – ‘they want to finish us Adivasis off’.

On this occasion, we once again appeal to the people who are fleeing from their villages after fascist massacres like Sarkinguda, Edesmeta etc fearing complete extinction not to do so and to stand united under the leadership of Krantikari Janatana Sarkars to fight back the Indian state’s offensive. The Party and PLGA vouch to defend you and your rights with our lives.

We appeal to the workers, peasants, students, youth, intelligentsia, democrats, women, Dalits, Adivasis and people of oppressed nationalities and religious minorities and all the organizations of these classes, communities and sections i.e., the vast masses of our country to see through the evil designs of the ruling classes, the arch lackeys of imperialists, particularly US imperialists that are once again uniting for another big offensive as part of the more cruel-inhumane-fascist War on People. Unite together as a mighty struggling force in an unprecedented and broadest possible manner to fight against it and to defeat the unjust war of suppression. Only by doing so we can march towards ending the ever threatening danger of the menace of state terrorism and achieving genuine democracy and real freedom and also save our youth – the most valuable treasure for the future of our country.

The Filipino people’s struggle against imperialist domination and repression: Contribution to the Irish Anti-imperialist Forum 2013

The National Democratic Front of the Philippines wishes to thank the Republican Sinn Fein for this invitation to participate in the Irish Anti-Imperialist Forum of 2013, and to join activities countering the G-8 Summit now being held in Fermanagh, in British-Occupied Ireland.

We are grateful for this opportunity to share with you the situation in the Philippines, specifically the social and environmental destruction being wrought by imperialism, and the revolutionary struggle of the Filipino people for genuine national independence and democracy.

We would also like to take this opportunity to express our condolences to the family, comrades and friends of Ruairí Ó Brádaigh, former Chief of Staff of the Irish Republican Army and President of the Republican Sinn Fein, who passed away on 5 June.

He dedicated his life to the Irish Republican Movement, both as a soldier and political leader, setting the highest standards of commitment, duty, honor and loyalty to the cause of Irish freedom. Filipino revolutionaries salute the legacy that he has passed on to the next generations of Republicans who continue the fight for Irish national independence and genuine democracy.

 US imperialism in the Philippines

It is highly appropriate to hold public activities simultaneous with the G-8 Summit here in Ireland. It gives peoples around the world an excellent opportunity to focus our collective indignation at the destruction and penury caused by the most powerful imperialist states in the world.

Member-countries of the G-8 comprise about 14% of the world’s population, but they represent up to 60% of the global gross domestic product. Monopoly corporations based in these countries operate around the world, plundering the natural environment, exploiting wage labor for their super profits and dispatching armed repression against protesting peoples.

G-8 governments are the biggest military spenders, and they control almost all the nuclear weapons in the world. These governments have no qualms about using their military might against other countries asserting national independence, nor in supporting repressive puppet regimes in Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America.

The Philippines has been suffering from US imperialist domination since the turn of the 20th century. Taking over from Spanish colonialism, the US launched an interventionist war in 1899 against the sovereign Filipino people. The brutality of the foreign aggressors resulted in the death of 20,000 Filipino combatants and an additional 1.5 million civilians.

The US has since kept its grip on the Philippines, governing first as a colonial overlord until 1946, and thereafter through a series of local puppet governments. The country is kept as a backward agricultural and non-industrial economy – as a source of mineral and natural resources, plantation products, semi-manufactured commodities, and cheap labor force.

The Philippines also serves, then as now, as a launching pad for military aggression in Asia-Pacific, Indian Ocean and the Middle East. The Philippines is an archipelago in southeast Asia composed of more than 7,000 islands.

It has a land area of 300,000 square kilometers, roughly the same size as Italy and New Zealand, and currently has a population of about 100 million. The country has rich mineral, forest, agricultural, water and marine resources. Despite these bountiful natural riches however, the vast majority of the population live in poverty.

US imperialism and the local ruling classes of landlords and compradors big bourgeoisie have kept the country in a predominantly feudal state. Majority of the population are peasant-farmers, and more than 70% of them are landless share-croppers. They pay feudal rent to the landlords, sometimes amounting up to 70% of the harvest. There is virtually no amount of mechanization in agriculture, most peasants still use water buffaloes and hand tools for cultivating and harvesting their crops. Peasants and agricultural workers also suffer from feudal slavery, usury, low farm wages, and low prices for their agricultural products.

Less than 15% of the population work in the industrial sector as wage laborers. Among others, they are engaged in extraction of natural resources, agriculture, assembly and semi-manufacture of electronics, garments, transport equipment, and food products. In the last decade, call center operations of foreign companies have expanded into the country, reportedly employing 700,000 workers, or about 2% of the country’s current labor force.

Wage laborers in the Philippines earn an average of US$1.70 (€1,30) per hour or about US$13.60 (€10,50) per day. The average family needs US$23.60 (€18,20) per day in order to survive. This means that, on the average, a wage laborer earns only half of what they need to survive! In fact, more than 60% of the population live in poverty, not earning enough for the basic necessities.

Foreign monopoly corporations continually plunder the country’s natural resources. They reap super profits from these extractive operations while paying virtually nothing to the government. On the other hand, these result in irreparable destruction to the environment and the depletion of resources for the country’s own industrial needs.

The local ruling classes of landlords and compradors big bourgeoisie are extremely rapacious and repressive. They monopolize the country’s economic resources, exploit the working people, extract political and economic power from government resources, and utilize the entire might of the reactionary state against the masses who are demanding social change. They are also extremely subservient to foreign monopoly corporations and US imperialism. They hand over the country’s patrimony and sovereignty to foreign profit, and legitimize US imperialist domination.

Revolution against imperialism, feudalism and bureaucrat capitalism

The overwhelming majority of the Filipino people suffer from the chronic problems of imperialism, feudalism and bureaucrat capitalism. Under these conditions, the people have no other choice than to engage in a revolutionary struggle for national independence and genuine democracy. This involves the forcible overthrow of the US-controlled reactionary state, free distribution of agricultural lands to poor peasants and farmworkers, socialist development of agriculture, national industrialization, and establishment of the people’s democratic republic to be led by the working class.

The national democratic revolution is currently being led by the Communist Party of the Philippines. Since its re-establishment in 1968, the Party has formed and commands the New People’s Army as its main weapon in dismantling the armed strength of the reactionary state. Utilizing the strategy of protracted people’s war, the revolutionary forces build up strength in the vast countryside, defeat the reactionary armed forces piece by piece, and aim to seize national political power.

 The NPA is also the Party’s main machinery for arousing, organizing and mobilizing the rural population for the revolution. Sectoral organizations of the peasantry, women, youth, children and the rural petty bourgeoisie are established. Programs and campaigns for agrarian revolution are launched, including those for lowering the land rent, wiping out usury, improving agricultural production, increasing farm wages, increasing prices for agricultural products, and improving cooperative activities.

 Local organs of political power are set up starting from the village level and later up to the municipal and provincial levels. These implement programs for agrarian reform, economic production, health, education, self-defense, local arbitration, and cultural activities.

 The revolutionary struggles in the towns and cities are also important. Organizations of the industrial workers, urban poor, women, youth and students, and urban professionals are formed. They launch legal and unarmed mass actions to propagate the demands of the masses for national and social liberation. They also spread the news about the armed struggle being waged primarily in the countryside, inspiring the urban population to support and actively join it.

 At the moment, the revolutionary forces led by the CPP are active in 70 out of the total 81 provinces in the Philippines. The NPA is operating in more than 110 guerilla fronts, each front equivalent to a platoon up to a company of Red fighters. The number of full-time Red fighters with high-powered rifles is moving towards the level of 10,000. They are also augmented by tens of thousands of volunteers in the people’s militia and in the hundreds of thousands of self-defense units of the mass organizations in the countryside.

 The mass base of the revolution runs into millions of people. It has been realized by building the village-based mass organizations, the organs of political power, and the local Party branches. The CPP membership is now beyond 100,000 and is expanding towards the goal of 250,000 in both urban and rural areas. The NPA seeks to increase its Red fighters to 25,000 and its guerilla fronts to 180. The organs of political power and the mass organizations are strengthening themselves and seek to cover more people by the millions through direct organizing and by united front work.

 Under the leadership of the CPP, the NPA and other allied organizations of the NDFP are determined and prepared to advance the revolutionary struggle towards total victory against US imperialism and its local reactionary allies. The victory of the Filipino people shall contribute in weakening US imperialist domination and heighten the contradiction among the imperialist states.

नेपाली क्रान्तिप्रति गद्दारी गर्ने प्रचण्ड–बाबुराम गुटसित सम्बन्ध विच्छेद गरेको एक वर्ष भएको छ । अहिले पनि  विसर्जनोन्मुख नवसंशोधनवादी सारमा नवप्रतिक्रियावादी गुट अनेक भ्रम फैलाइरहेको छ ।  भित्रभित्रै यो  गुट कसरी वैचारिक र साङ्गठनिक रूपबाट  नेकपा–माओवादीलाई सिध्याउने भनेर लागेको छ भने बाहिरचाहिँ एकता र मित्रताको षड्यन्त्रकारी भ्रम फिँजाइरहेको छ । अमुकलाई अमुक पद र अमुकलाई अमुक मन्त्रीको पोर्टफोलियो वितरणको ठेककापट्टाकेन्द्र अहिले पेरिस डाँडा भएको छ । नवशंसोधनवादीहरू भारतीय विस्तारवादका सामु पूर्ण आत्मसमर्पण गरेर पैसा, पद र प्रलोभनका अनेक ढडिया थापेर बसेका छन् । सुनको बाला समातेको बाघप्रति लोभिएको लोभी बाहुनझैँ ‘शान्तिप्रक्रिया’ का सुखसुविधा अझै पनि झल्झली सम्झिरहनेहरू पेरिस डाँडाले वितरित गर्न थालेको कोटातिर आकर्षित नहोलान् भन्न सकिन्न । तर नेकपा–माओवादी क्रान्तिकारीहरूको पार्टी हो, यो महान् सहिदहरूको रगतको मूल्यप्रति प्रतिबद्ध पार्टी हो,  यो दुस्मनका कुनै पनि चाल र जालमा पस्तैन र फस्तैन भन्ने कुरा प्रस्ट छ । अपारदर्शी क्रियाकलाप अथवा कार्यकर्ताको आँखा छलेर दायाँवायाँ गर्ने प्रवृत्तिका लागि नेकपा–माओवादीमा ठाउँ छैन । कार्यकर्ताले हरेक नेताका गतिविधिलाई गम्भीरताका साथ  हेरेर खबरदारी गरिरहेका छन् । ‘गद्दारहरूसित एकता संभव छैन’ भनेर भर्खरै कमरेड किरणद्वारा प्रसारित वक्तव्यले क्रान्तिकारी कार्यकर्तामा नयाँ उत्साह थपिएको कुरा यहाँ स्मरणीय छ । 

देशभित्रका नयाँ–पुराना प्रतिक्रियावादीहरू मात्र नभएर साम्राज्यवादीहरू र विस्तारवादी शक्तिहरू पनि नेकपा–माओवादीलाई  भरिसक्के वैचारिक रूपबाटै पतन गराउने, सहमतिका नाममा संसदवादको  आहालमा डुबाउने, नभए दमन गर्ने अथवा टुट–फूट र विसर्जनको स्थितिमा पुर्याउने  अनेक षड्यन्त्रमा छन् । चुनावलाई पनि उनीहरूले यसैको एउटा कडी बनाउन खोजेका छन् । प्रश्न हामी आफैँसित पनि गाँसिएको छ । उद्देश्यमा प्रस्ट र विचारप्रति प्रतिबद्ध रहँदारहँदै पनि कतिपय सन्दर्भंमा हाम्रो  चिन्तन र व्यवहारमा थुप्रै कमीकमजोरी देखिएको कुरा सत्य हो । विरोधीहरूलाई खेल्ने ठाउँ हामी आफैँले दिएका छौँ । खासगरेर सङ्गठन, कार्यदिशाको कार्यान्वयन र कार्यशैलीका क्षेत्रमा हाम्रा सामु थुप्रै चुनौती र जटिलता देखापरेका छन् । सङ्गठनात्मक क्षेत्रमा गरिनुपर्ने कामहरू गतिमा हुन सकेका  छैनन् र महाधिवेशनको स्पिरिटबाट कतै हामी पछि हट्न थालेको त होइनौँ ? जस्ता आशङ्काहरू उठ्न थालेका छन् । विचार र सङ्गठनका क्षेत्रमा नवसंशोधनवादीहरूसित सम्बन्ध विच्छेद् गरे पनि लामो अवधिसम्म तिनीहरूसितको सङ्गतले गर्दा त्यो विरासतबाट हामी मुक्त हुन नसकेको यथार्थलाई हामीले आत्मसात गर्नैपर्ने हुन्छ ।  नयाँ पार्टीका रूपमा विचार, नेतृत्व, सङ्गठन र आन्दोलनका क्षेत्रमा आफ्नो परिचयलाई गुणात्मक रूपमा स्थापित गर्नैपर्ने हुन्छ ।

आमजनता, हाम्रा शुभचिन्तकहरू र कार्यकर्ता पङ्क्तिबाटसमेत हामीप्रति  उठाउन थालिएका प्रश्नहरूको जवाफ, कुरा वा भाषणले होइन, वर्गसङ्घर्षलाई घनिभूत रूपमा अघि बढाएर मात्र दिन सकिन्छ । पार्टीले मार्क्सवाद–लेनिनवाद–माओवाद र नयाँ जनवादी क्रान्तिको पक्षमा आफूलाई दृढताका साथ उभ्याएको छ । सैद्धान्तिक तहमा क्रान्तिका ‘तीन जादुगरी हतियार’ प्रति पार्टी प्रस्ट छ तापनि यति मात्र पुग्दो छैन । हामी आफैँप्रति निर्मम भएर जान सक्ने हो कि होइन, प्रश्न यहाँनेरी छ । कार्यदिशा, सङ्गठन, नेतृत्वबीच तालमेल मिल्नैपर्ने हुन्छ । कार्यकर्ताको विशाल पङ्क्तिलाई क्रान्तिकारी उत्साह र आशाका साथ अघि बढ्ने वातावरणबिना नीति र योजना पारित गरेर मात्र पनि केही हुने स्थिति छैन ।  देखिने गरी नै तल चाहिँ  कुदन तयार भएको र माथिचाहिँ हिँड्न पनि तयार नभएको जस्तो स्थिति बोध हुने अवस्था आउनु हुँदैन ।

उमेरवाद र अनुभववादसित जोडिएका समस्याहरूले पनि यदाकदा टाउको उठाउन थालेको बोध हुन्छ । अनुभववादी जडता र उमेरवादी वितण्डा दुवै स्वीकार्य छैनन् । वस्तुस्थितिको विशिष्टताका नाममा अकर्मण्यतामा फस्ने  र त्यसको विरोधमा अराजकतामा  रमाउने कुरा सही होइनन् ।  दस्ताबेजमा उल्लेख भएझैँ आज अनुभववाद, व्यवहारवाद र उदारतावादका विरुद्ध  मात्र नभएर पार्टीभित्र बेलाबेलामा देखापर्ने गरेका विभिन्न किसिमका व्यक्तिवादी अराजकतावादका विरुद्ध पनि सङ्घर्ष चलाउनु आवश्यक छ । अबको हाम्रो नीति, योजना र कार्यक्रमको मूल केन्द्र ‘चार तयारी’ हुनु आवश्यक छ ।

दुस्मनका हरेक भ्रम र षड्यन्त्रलाई चिर्दै क्रान्तिकारी स्पिरिटका साथ एकताबद्ध भएर अघि बढ्नु आजको आवश्यकता हो । हाम्रो पार्टीमा वर्गसङ्घर्षमा लामो अनुभव भएको र खारिएको पाको नेतृत्व टिम छ र जनयुद्धका बीचबाट विकसित क्रान्तिकारी उत्साहले भरिएको सशक्त युवा नेता तथा कार्यकर्ताहरूको जमात  छ । यो शक्ति पार्टीको महत्वपूर्ण सम्पति हो । यसलाई क्रान्तिकारी संयोजनका साथ अघि बढाउनु आवश्यक छ । यसको सही किसिमले पार्टीमा व्यवस्थापन हुनु जरुरी छ । माओले भन्नुभएझैँ  नेतृत्वका  सन्दर्भमा ‘एकमा तीन’ को नीति नै सही नीति हो । पार्टीमा गुटवाद, क्षेत्रीयतावाद, जातवाद÷जातीयतावाद, लिङ्गवाद र प्रभाववाद सबै त्याज्य छन् । पार्टीमा कार्यकर्ताको योग्यता र क्षमताअनुसार जिम्मेवारी पाउनु पर्दछ, नेतृत्वदेखि तलसम्म  ‘सही मान्छे सही ठाउँ’ मा उभिएको हुनुपर्छ  भनेर मार्क्सवादको क ख ग बुझेको सबैले जानेको कुरा हो । यसमा  सहमति जनाउनु अथवा स्वीकार्नु भनेको यसको व्यवहारमा अनुभुति हुने स्थितिको निर्माण हो ।  यसको व्यावहारिक कार्यान्वयनमा  थुप्रै समस्या देखिएको कुरा  सही हो ।

क्रान्तिकारी विचार र कार्यदिशाको  केन्द्रीयतामा  एकताबद्ध सुदृढ पार्टीको निर्माणतर्फ जाने कि अनुभववादी जडता र अकर्मण्यतामा पार्टीलाई घुमाइरहने भन्ने कुरासित अहिलेका समस्याहरू जेलिएका छन् । ‘विशिष्ट स्थिति’, ‘सङ्क्रमणअवस्था’, ‘आफ्नै मौलिकता र विशिष्टता’, ‘हिजोभन्दा फरक किसिमले’, ‘क्रान्तिको बाटो घुमाउरो हुन्छ’ आदिआदिका नाममा हिजोका दिनमा यथास्थितिमै रुमलिएको इतिहासबाट शिक्षा लिने कि नलिने प्रश्न आजको जल्दोबल्दो प्रश्न हो । विशिष्टता,  मौलिकता र मोडेलका नाममा कतिपय क्रान्तिकारी पार्टीहरूले पतनको दिशा समातेको ऐतिहासिक यथार्थबाट हामी अनभिज्ञ छैनौँ । यथास्थितिमा लामो समयसम्म पार्टी रुमलिइरहनु भनेको विभिन्न किसिमका अवसरवादी प्रवृत्तिलाई विकसित हुने अवसर प्रदान गर्नु हो  । यसले अराजकतावाद र अकर्मण्यतालाई मात्र मलजल प्रदान गर्दछ । यो भनेको अन्ततः विसर्जन वा फूटतर्फ पार्टीलाई प्रवृत्त गराउनु हो ।  अधैर्यता र उत्ताउलोपानबाट जोगिनु आवश्यक छ, व्यक्तिवादी, महत्वाकाङ्क्षी र क्यारियरिस्ट प्रवृत्तिप्रति सचेत हुनु आवश्यक छ,  तर त्यसका नाममा  अनुभववादी जडता र अकर्मण्यतामा फसेर यथास्थितिवादको पक्षपोषण गर्नु भनेको नेपाली क्रान्तिलाई अर्को किसिमले धोका दिनु मात्र हो ।

रेग्मी सरकारले चुनाबको मितिको घोषणा गरिसकेको छ । यो समझदारी बिगार्ने कुरा मात्र होइन, यो  भनेको मुठभेड, द्वन्द्व सारत: एक प्रकारले युद्धकै घोषणा हो । जुन  अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय योजनाबद्धतामा आधारित भएर चुनाब गर्न थालिएको छ, यो सामान्य स्थिति होइन । यो  सामान्य  वा कोरा बहिष्कारले मात्र पुग्ने स्थिति होइन ।  यो एक किसिमको वर्गयुद्धकै प्रश्न  हो । यो भनेको चुनावी प्रक्रियालाई नै असफल अर्थात् ध्वस्त पार्नु पर्ने स्थिति हो । २०५२ सालमा रोल्पाली जनताले रोमियो अप्रेसन भोगेका थिए, त्यो एक हिसाबले महान् जनयुद्धको रिहर्सल थियो– प्रतिरोध र सङ्घर्ष । चुनावी मुठभेडमा अब नयाँ किसिमका रिहर्सलहरू हुने कुरा निश्चित छ ।

‘पोलिटिक्स इन कमाण्ड’ मार्फत ‘चार तयारी’ लाई केन्द्रमा राखेर  वर्गसङ्घर्षलाई नयाँ किसिमले गति दिएर मात्र यसको सामना गर्न सकिन्छ ।  यही नै मार्क्सवादी बाटो हो, महाधिवेशनले निर्देशित गरेको बाटो हो । माओले बारंबार भन्नुभएझैँ जनसेना नभएको जनतासित आफ्नो भन्ने केही हुँदैन । यस यथार्थलाई आत्मसात गरेर अघि बढ्नु नै अहिलेको आवश्यकता हो ।

Press statement by Comrade Kiran

Since last week, some medias particularly close to Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, frequently published one sided  reports referring the reunification  between CPN-Maoist and UCPN-(Maoist). It created a lot of confusion   among the cadres of CPN-Maoist. In fact, it was a matter to be worried and was necessary to make it clear. It is  known to all that the neo-reactionary group led by Prachanda-Baburam wants to create bewilderment to  cover the crisis running within UCPN (MAOIST.)

 Then Comrade Mohan Baidhya ‘Kiran’ Chairman of CPN-Maoist published a press statement on Monday, June 10, 2013 making clear that the media reports are totally false and fabricated. The statement states :

 A serious attention has been drawn towards the media reports referring to the reunification  between  our party CPN-Maoist and  the UCPN (Maoist), are totally false and fabricated. It is known to all that ideologically, politically  and in party line, program,  behavior and in policy these two parties are running in exactly opposite directions, with their own separate political lines. It is clear that the Prachanda-Baburam faction has committed serious treachery against their own country and betrayed the people and they have already surrendered themselves to the imperialists and Indian expansionists. In this situation, there is no question thus to unite with the compradors  and the traitors. We want to make public the fact that we have never talked with the UCPN (Maoist) about party unity and we have not taken any decision regarding that.

 But it is  the matter of surprise that  medias close to CPN-Maoist janadishanews.com and redstarnepal.com did not give any significance to this statement. They did not publish this statement. We all know there is no any possibility of unification with the neo-reactionary party UCPN(Maoist).  Then why these medias discarded  this statement is not clear. Politburo member Pampha Bhusal is the  in charge  and CC member Comrade Maheshowr Dahal is the secretary of the  propaganda department.  Let us wait and see, what is going to be in the future.

Prachand, the traitor has sent a condolence message to  the Indian reactionaries.

Concerning  the May 25 daring action of Chhatisgarh,  by PLGA of CPI-Maoist, the oppressed people of around the world and the revolutionary parties and organizations sent their greetings  and solidarity messages to the oppressed people of India  and CPI-Maoist. Comrade  Gudsa Usendi made it clear that it was the revenge against the fascist elements, who were responsible  for killings of thousands  innocent people. As he has mentioned in his statement : With this action we have taken revenge of over a thousand adivasis who were brutally murdered in the hands of Salwa Judum goons and government armed forces. We also have taken revenge on behalf of those hundreds of mothers and sisters who were subjected to cruelest forms of violence, humiliation and sexual assault.

But the  reactionary elements, particularly neo-reactionary element like Prachand  the chairman of UCPN (Maoist) sent  the condolence message to Sonia Gandhi, that  this incident has deeply shocked and saddened him.  After all  the party lead by Prachand-Baburam has come out in its real face. They have made clear their side. We have already declared that Prachand-Baburam have betrayed the Nepalese  revolution, they are the real followers of Indian expansionism. Now it has come true in practice.  Prachand has decleard to join his hands with Indian reactionaries  against CPI-Maoist and  the oppressed people of India .Here is the full text of the message sent by Prachand.

The incident of violent attack has drawn the attention of our party. expressing serious concern on this incident joins with you which 27 people including leaders and workers of the Indian National Congress were killed and 32 others including Congress central leader VC Shukla were injured. We believe that any kind of solution can and should be sought and found in a peaceful manner, which is the beauty of democracy. I, personally, and on behalf my party, express deepest condolence to the families of those killed and wish for the speedy recovery of those injured in the incident.

I am optimistic that your party will soon recover from this moment of utmost sorrow and would rededicate itself to the welfare of the people of India.

To Our Valued Masses;

The masses who are filled with hate because of reactionary oppression and violence have shaken the ruling class and the Turkish Government.

The massive rising caused by destruction attempt of Gezi Park for the benefit of the bourgeoisie is moving forward.

Once again, the screaming masses have showed the neo-liberal bottom feeders that people can take their own fate into their own hands. AKP government’s savage fascist oppression wasn’t able to stop the resistance.

The masses continued to fight and wouldn’t let go of their democratic requests even though they have been wounded, arrested, beaten and tortured.

Despite Turkeys sell out media and silence of bourgeoisie writers, the resistance was able to get the attention and support of the world.

Presence of enormous masses have become the nightmare for the AKP and reactionary and oppressive ruling class, who don’t even recognize their own laws. On the firth day, the masses who started off with protesting destruction of the nature have turned into revolutionary and the masses claimed victory by forcing AKP to take a step back!

The reactionary, corporate, bureaucrat and bourgeoisie-feudal supporters of AKP have done their historical tradition and tried to surpass the democratic requests of the masses by using violence and bloodshed. On the contrarily the rising determent masses have caused the movement to grow and continue despite paying the price for it.

Thousands of people in dozens of different cities have united as one in the streets to join Taksim Gezi Park Resistance.

The history of reactionary classes have always been oppressing, exploiting the masses and its proper to cause any kind of pain to them. In order to keep their rule and their domination, they have never shied away from using reactionary violence against the oppressed and poor people.

The organized reactionary classes that are receiving the benefits of capitalism have always looked down upon the masses and caused them barbaric pains. They have pushed alienation toward proletarians and forced them to live in hunger and poverty. But the people have reminded the reactionary class that it is the people who are the real heroes and with their own fate in their own hands through revolutionary actions, they have caused system to be upside-down. Revolutionary masses have proven in unforgettable way that the mockery of the ruling class, such as ” three five bare legged” and “looter” is baseless. This historical fact have materialized against fascist AKP through the resistance of the masses of ethnicities and marginalized groups in Turkey- North Kurdistan altogether!

AKP leader and “Turkish Republic” president Erdogan shamelessly and arrogantly insulted/humiliated the rising masses by claiming they are “dozens of looters”. Even taking it further by threatening “As a party I can gather one million”.

Unfortunately for him, once these “Bare legged looters” are awakened; threats nor blood stinking vampire fangs of yours will stop them!

The same warmongering two-faced Erdogan criticised Essad dictatorship for brutalizing its people, have sank low enough to call its own revolting masses “couple of looters”.

What makes him so raged is nothing but the fear of its own people uprising!

Two-faced AKP government is using “priest-executioner”(Aztec Spanish massacre reference) tactics to suppress the fires of uprising while trying to please its own masses.

While Bulent Arinc, speaker of the government Cemil Cicek and couple of AKP mc have tried to soften the masses by telling them peoples request is democratic, Erdogan is not taking any step back by showing his fangs.

Proletarian and the masses are not gullible enough to fall for these tricks. All your tactics will hit that bronze wall of yours and shedder your power. Resistance is not over, it continues on. The nightmare of the reactionaries that called the masses “looters” will continue. Who is looter who is the hero has already been revealed and
will continue to be revealed.

In Conclusion:

Us the proletarian revolutionaries are not absolving the bourgeoisie fascist parties such as CHP, MHP seeing the mass’s democratic rebellion as a revolutionary reaction, and are greeting uprisings of all oppressed people.

We have vowed to fight the tyranny side by side with the masses as its our revolutionary duty!

With the same attitude, we are condemning the fascist torture and violence used against people, and forming a rank to oppose these fascist oppression. In order to accomplish more efficient, eligible and more organized revolutionary movement, with the leadership of proletarian we are calling all democratic and revolutionary powers to unite! For this reason, alone we are calling all the Turkey- North Kurdistan proletarian , the oppressed poor people and the comrades to make war on the reactionary ruling class as well as the capitalist system.

We know that with our Peoples war and its blazing fire, we will be able to shatter this reactionary system. Rule of the people and building of socialism and finally communism will be accomplished through Peoples War!

It’s our duty and necessity to wage revolutionary struggle by uniting rebellions of all the democratic and revolutionary masses with Marxism-Leninism-Maoism ideology under proletarian flag.

No obstacle can stand before the masses of people! Reactionary force will materialize the revolutionary one.

The revolutionary force that materialized in the hand of masses is legit and necessary.

Because it’s the method that will stand against reactionary classes and lead to democracy, freedom and communist society.

The masses that unites, resist and fight will not lose.

Just like this one, all the reactionary forces and the classes that relies on it are condemn to lose sooner or later!

Its the revolutionary masses and their revolutionary actions that writes history!

“A Renewed Spring Thunder over Dandakaranya”

National Alliance of People’s Movement has come out with a statement on the recent ambush in Bastar. Here with point is not of violence or non-violence, but is of politics. Because the organization which did it has a politics, and that is the most crucial factor. In every democratic society and nation, every individual has the democratic choice of the political action and the kind of politics one can choose.

 If NAPM has the democratic choice of selecting what it can do, likewise the organization which did the ambush has the same democratic right to choose its own politics, which includes the choice of political decision, and it can also be the decision to eliminate the enemies of the people.

 Like the above organizations, I as a citizen of this country, which proclaims to be the largest democracy, also have equal democratic right to express my political opinion on the NAPM statement. And this right is guaranteed by the several clauses of the fundamental rights in the Indian Constitution to which NAPM proclaims its adherence and loyalty. By the same logic, NAPM or anyone should have no problem if I hold a different opinion.

My biggest problem with NAPM’s statement is their opinion about the relationship with Adivasis and Maoists, as both of them are totally different extrapolated entities. Here lies the basic flaw, hence the reason to reject NAPM’s opinion lock, stock and barrel.

I am totally appalled and have severe objections to the NAPM’s rejection of the revolutionary agency and political subjectivity to the Adivasis. This is the biggest historical injustice to the Adivasis, hence taking the side of the Adivasis I strongly oppose NAPM’s position which refuses to look at Adivasis as a political subject. Its tone, tenor and political analysis make Adivasis some kind of museumized hardened cultural identities which have to be protected by benevolent civil society.

This is quite patronizing, hence objectionable. This is akin to the colonial notion of the white mans burden, hence reprehensible. As a Marxist, I strongly believe as foretold by Marx that revolution is an act of self- emancipation of the working class, so the most important issue here is the agency of the exploited. Hence, only the underdog can beat its own chain. And here the poorest of the poor are engaged in a battle with the fascist Indian State to save their land, forest, livelihood and dignity. Here lies NAPM’s basic flaw and hence needs rejection.

The Maoists and Adivasis are not separate entities, as if Maoists are some extra planetary beings, who have descended on Bastar.  This is sheer ignorance, and total lack of knowledge of the objective realities. Therefore, the political opinion which flows from this flawed, metaphysical utopian premise is juvenile and needs to be rejected. NAPMs notion of peace is totally dubious, bogus, misleading and statusquoist. To achieve lasting peace, one has to remove the structural relations in the society that creates conflicts and wars. There cannot be peace in a class society. Asking for peace in exploitative system is asking for the peace in the grave yard. This is the politic of statusquoism which supports the structural violence of the ruling classes. 

Another big flaw in NAPM’s statement is that it is totally ahistorical, apolitical, moral and has totalitarian views about ‘violence’ – it stupidly clubs everything together – the violence and emancipatory countervailence.

Violence is abhorrent in human nature, hence undesirable, but can one deny the all pervading structural violence around us?

Violence cannot vanish by sheer moralizing or sermons from the mount. The objective conditions which give rise to violence have to be removed; for that cut off those hands that perpetrate structural violence on the wretched of the earth. A people’s war is necessary to counter imperialist war

The basic question is how does one define and quantify violence?

And what about systemic violence like hunger, malnutrition, farmers’ suicides, draughts, forced migration, caste, patriarchy, the violence on oppressed nationalities, religious minorities, so on and so forth.

Which also includes stark indicators like body mass index.

What about the millions of female foetus who are killed every year. isn’t it violence?  We underdogs have been suffering the violence of the ruling classes since centuries; from the day one our surplus was systematically extracted, our women enslaved, and our children starving.

In India, the Dalit women have been suffering hard labour and sexual violence since the day one Indian caste feudalism got institutionalized.

It is common sense in the caste Hindu villages that the upper caste landlords not only ruthlessly exploit Dalit men and women, but their women are used as virtual sex slaves – is that not violence?

Every day hundreds of Dalit women are raped – is not that violence? Every third day a Dalit woman is paraded naked – is not that violence?

Every 40 minutes a bride is burnt for a colour TV or fridge – is not that violence?

Why are the Congress, BJP, NAPM, media, and intelligence police brass not outraged by this, what moral right they have to sermonize about violence?

Every 20 minutes a woman is raped; every now and then acid is thrown on her face; she is teased, molested and demeaned and traumatized in the public sphere – is not this violence?

So why are the moral guardians not outraged by this?

And what about the violence in the mean streets of your great system, where every Tom, Dick and Harry can violate us, demean us, brutalize us by just throwing some currency notes on our face – is not that violence?

 The rulers have been perpetrating the worst forms of violence on us since millennia – ethnic cleansing, genocides, etc.

Continents were colonized, and their indigenous people decimated – is not that violence?

The native American decimated, the aborigines of Australia wiped out. The Maories of Newzealand ghettosied, millions were butchered by Spanish invaders in Latin America – is not this violence?

And what about the thousands of communists who were butchered in Indonesia, 5 million Iraqi children died of starvation by American economic blockade, and what about tens of millions of Iraqi and Afghani citizens who died due to American bombing and their women raped by the marauding American troops – is not that violence?

Tens of millions died in the imperialist World War and colonial conquests – is not that violence? And what about the shameless savage and inhuman carpet bombing of Vietnam and chilling tales of Agent Orange.

Is not that the most repulsive kind of violence?

And what about those thousands of fake encounters, custodial rapes and torture – is not that violence?

Why is not NAPM  and the media outraged by this?

The horrors of violence of the Indian state are quite shocking by the news of the mass graves in Kashmir; thousands of Kashmiri youths have vanished; thousands killed by fake encounters; their democratic aspirations denied – is not that violence? And what about the shameful incident of Kunnan Pushpora and Shopian – was not that violence?

Why is not NAPM or the media morally outraged by that? And what about the thousands of deaths in the communal riots? The blackest day of this so-called largest democracy was the gory horror of Gujarat riots. The conscience of the media or the rulers was not shaken when a Muslim woman’s womb was cut and the baby slain.

The so-called great Indian civilization descended into the lowest depths and the same media now lionizes the butcher of Gujarat ‘Narendra Modi’- how shameless!!

Given this saturated form of structural violence on the toiling Indian masses, where every democratic space is shrinking, where violence oozes in the air, where blood is dripping in the landscape, the underdog is left with no choice but to hit back, to save his own skin. I will explain  this – If someone slaps me, I will go one step backwards; one more slap – another step backwards; I go on getting hit and stepping backwards until my back hits the wall. It is here that I have no choice but to hit back. Other avenues of redressal are totally closed by then.

It is in this context that one has to understand what happened in Bastar. What happened in Bastar was the sound of the slaves breaking their chains.

This monster Mahendra Karma was the butcher who is responsible for killing thousands of Adivasis, burning more than 600 villages, driving tens of thousands of Adivasis out of their houses; he is responsible for the rapes of hundreds of Adivasi women.

Hence, he was the enemy of the people. Therefore, it was the historical mandate to eliminate him and I salute the revolutionary left for having taken this crucial historical decision. Mahendra Karma was the architect of Salwa Judum, so he had to pay for the horrors created by him.

It is in this context that one has to understand the difference between ruling class –  Violence and revolutionary violence, by conflating both, NAPM is playing in the hands of the ruling classes.

The basic difference between liberal politics and revolutionary politics is that – while liberal politics tries to manage and contain the contradiction, revolutionary politics tries for the resolutions of those antagonistic contractions.

When antagonistic contractions get resolved, blood flows, therefore, collateral damages are not accounted for in the onward march of history.

By taking a liberal stand under the garb of non-violence, NAPM has acted as the Trojan horse of the ruling classes to depoliticize and disarm the working people.

History has proved that the ruling classes do not yield anything without a fight. All those rights we are boasting of are products of centuries of unremitting struggles, and structural change towards a more just and emancipatory change in society. The subaltern masses have  to fight a knockout battle with the rulers.

A capitalist state cannot be reformed; it has to be smashed.

As the great  revolutionary poet Paash had said, ‘Marna hai, maarna hai, maut to khatam karna hai’ there are times when death is necessary to defeat death, for a new dawn.

This is necessary for the living corpses of ARJUN Sengupta’s 77% who subsist on Rs. 20 a day.

History mandates Red terror against the white terror and for terror to be abolished forever. A people’s war is necessary to wipe out the perpetual war on the people by the ruling classes.

Mao had explained it quite lucidly when he says, “We are the advocates for the abolition of war. But war can only be abolished through war. And in order to get rid of the gun, it is necessary to take up the gun.” 

There are no value neutral or class neutral wars. There are wars of the oppressor and the war of the oppressed. Which means that there is a revolutionary war of the slaves to break their chain forever; they have to take up that war because history teaches them that nothing to lose but their chains.

It is in this context that one has to understand revolutionary violence history has proved that from Spartacan rebellion via the mountains of Yenan. Revolutionary violence means the trajectory of history reaching the zebra crossing where it turns towards the lanes of liberation.

Where all traffic signals fail, and the Deafening thunder announces the arrival of a more progressive society.

Revolutionary violence is the trumpet which announces look a new dawn is inevitable. It is the menstruation in May when the rivers go red.

The waves of Volga turn crimson, the Niagra Falls gush out with colours of change.

Where Gulmohars in the lane of the beloved bloom with their most scintillating reddish glow.

Revolutionary violence is the dance of history knocking at the fortresses of the ruling classes.

It is the force which acts as a midwife for the new society to arrive.

When guns boom in the countryside, it indicates that the dance of history has arrived in the landscape.

Therefore, revolutionary violence is the synthesis of the dialectics between the Dance and the Dancer. A spring thunder is necessary for the melting of the glaciers and mountains to move.

These are most outlandish junctures of history, where Romance, Rationality, Libeation merge in a mutually lilberating rhythm. 

These gun-battles are necessary for all those promises to keep. For all those shattered lives, wilted dreams, smothered dewdrops, battered bodies, blotted chrysanthemums, trampled flowers, withered orchids, all those broken bangles and smeared bindis, skipped heart beats. -Those oceans of tears which have dried up through brutal exploitation.

These gun-battles are necessary to retrieve those “stolen moments” snatched away from us by the ruling classes.

When guns boom in the countryside, it indicates the festival of the masses, the carvinal of liberation. The agony and exhilaration of making history.  These gun battles announce the arrival of the Monsoons to quench the thirst of the Revolutionary violence is that midwife which helps history to change its orbital and enter in the trajectory of emancipation.

History has proved it those momentous moment “the takeover of the bastile”, “the storming of the winterpalace”, “the shaking of the Mountains in Yenan”, “the blooming of wild flowers in Sierra Maestra”, “the festival of resistance in the jungles of Vietnam”, “the luminous path in the mountain of Peru”, “the flaming fields of Naxalbari” and “the roaring valleys of Nepal”.

“Liberty does not descend on a people, a people raise themselves to liberty”.

Learning from the lessons of history, the revolutionary masses of Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, Chattisgarh, Andhra and Maharashtra will wipe out those stinging “cobras”, “greyhounds” and “scorpions” let loose on them. The French Revolution has taught us that a people has to raise themselves to liberty. As the exemplary revolutionary and Marxist teacher Rose Luxembourg had taught us, “Unless we move, chains don’t break”. Therefore, battles are necessary to win the war, we may lose a small battle, but we will win the war. As Che Guevera had said, “Battles are fought and lost but nevertheless fought”.

I would like to quote a couplet from the French Revolution written an anonymous Parisian proletariat “Our liberty has come to change, the odd head did roll, for there is nothing called a party without a broken glass”.

The booming guns in the countryside indicate the cantankerous sound between the class struggle and glass struggle. The ruling classes start trembling, the bells begin to toll.

It is the moment when the wrethched of the earth says “Enough is enough”.

The Valley of Flowers turns extastic.

The horizons become red.

Heavens are stormed, citadels of ruling class arrogamce are blasted. Reverbations are felt in the places and brings down the burgouis power structure.

 It is the mandate of history for us. We inherit the glorious tradition of  “The Spartacan Uprising”, “The Paris Communne”, “The Storming of the Bastile”, “The Takeover of the Winterpalace”, “The Long March”, “The Forests and Booming Villages of Vietnam, Cuba, Peru and Philippines” and we are proud of this tradition.

We salute the renewed spring thunder of Chattisgarh.

Once again, CPI (Maoist) and the oppressed people of India have become the main issue of public concern. The action of May 25 has created a lot of debate and discussion among the intellectuals,  politicians and as well as  common people. Most of the medias, specially the big house medias that always discarded the movement of oppressed people in India, are compelled to concentrate their concern on this issue. ”The Naxalites” as they  used to pronounce, now  have become the main issue in the Indian medias.  Once again, Maoist Comrades have proved their strength, ability and  revolutionary spirit.

Comrade  Gudsa Usendi the spokesperson for the Dandakaranya, special Zone has released a long press statement on May 26 regarding  this  historical   attack. As the statement states:

On May 25, 2013, a detachment of the People’s Liberation Guerilla Army conducted a massive attack on the 20 plus vehicles convoy of Congress party which resulted in wiping out of at least 27 Congress leaders, activists and policemen including Mahendra Karma, the bitter enemy of the oppressed people of Bastar and Nand Kumar Patel, president of the Congress’ state unit. …With this action we have taken revenge of over a thousand adivasis who were brutally murdered in the hands of Salwa Judum goons and government armed forces. We also have taken revenge on behalf of those hundreds of mothers and sisters who were subjected to cruelest forms of violence, humiliation and sexual assault. We have taken revenge on behalf of the thousands of Bastarites who lost their homes, cattle, chickens, goats, bald, pottery, clothing, grain, crops … everything and were forced to live a miserable life in subhuman conditions. 

Yes , they have done a great job in Chhattisgarh, India. The Comrades of CPI (Maoist)–People’s Liberation Guerilla Army,   the brave sons and daughters of India have done a great job, a historical job. They eliminatedthe most notorious person the enemy of the people, the guiding force behind the vigilante groups: ‘Salwa Judum’, Mahendra Karma and other leaders of Congress party, who were against the oppressed people of India. A selected force of PLGA  and other Comrades attacked the convoy of the Congress leaders in the hilly areas of Darbha while they were returning from Sukma after an election rally.

The statement highlights the  entire situation of the region and the need for that  heroic action. Comrade Usendi has mentioned that both the BJP and the Congress Party are equally responsible for repression in tribal areas. He has made clear that those leaders of the ruling  parties who were behind the killing of innocent people and who were the leading force behind the ‘Salwa Judum’ , were punished.  It was the avenge atrocities on innocent villagers and tribal women during ‘Salwa Judum’ and  ‘Operation Green Hunt‘. The main target was anti-people policies and  the reactionaries, who were involved in killing the innocent people in that region.

 The statement highlights:

The goal of this attack was mainly to eliminate Mahendra Karma and some other reactionary Congress top leaders as well. However, during this massive attack some innocent people and some lower level Congress party activists who were in fact not our enemies, were also killed and injured caught in the two-hour long gun battle that ensued between our guerrilla forces and the armed police forces. Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee of Communist Party of India (Maoist) regrets for this and expresses condolence and sympathy to the families of the bereaved.

The statement further states:

One can hardly find any examples in the history to compare the severity of the devastation and barbarity caused by Salwa Judum to the lives of the Bastar people. It killed more than one thousand people in cold blood; torched 640 villages into ashes, robbed thousands of houses; ate or took away chickens, goats, pigs, etc.; forced more than two million people to be displaced; dragged more than 50 thousand people into state-run ‘relief’ camps. Thus the Salwa Judum became anathema to the people. Hundreds of women were gang raped. Many women were murdered after rape. Massacres took place in many places. The atrocities perpetrated on the people and havoc created by the hooligans of Salwa Judum, the police and paramilitary forces, especially the Naga and Mizo battalions crossed all limits. …Mahendra Karma himself led the attacks on several villages in the name of conducting meetings and marches. Many women were raped by the goons with the direct instigation of Mahendra Karma. He was directly involved in many incidents of burning the villages, torturing and murdering the people. Thus, in the minds of the people of Bastar, Mahendra Karma remained as an inhuman killer, rapist, dacoit and a loyal broker of the big capitalists. In entire Bastar people have been demanding our party and the PLGA for many years that he must be punished. Many of them came forward voluntarily to give active support in this task.

Comrade Usendi has demanded immediate suspension of all criminal operations and laws like ‘Opration Green Hunt’. He has  demanded  immediate withdrawal of all armed forces including paramilitary force from Dandakaranya region and release of innocent tribal people from prisons.

As Comrade Usendi stresses:

Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee of Communist Party of India (Maoist) calls upon the workers, peasants, students, intellectuals, writers, artists, media persons and all other democrats to demand the governments to stop the OGH immediately; to withdraw all kinds of paramilitary forces from Dandakaranya; to give up the conspiracy of deploying the Army in the name of ‘training’; to put an end to the interference of Air Force; to release all the revolutionary activists and ordinary adivasis languishing in various jails immediately; to scrap the cruel laws like UAPA, CSPSA, MACOCA, AFSPA, etc.; to cancel the all those MoUs signed with the corporate houses with the aim of plundering the natural wealth of the country.

 We all know, in February 2010 Chidambaram, then central home minister had told: “Intellectual support to Maoists, the task of tackling them very difficult”. Their after Prime Minister Manmohan Singh announced Maoists as the “biggest threat to India’s internal security”.  Since  past 7 years,  they are operating the vigilante groups  named ‘Salwa Judum’  and  the search and kill operation– ‘Operation Green Hunt’, against the innocent people of that region. But the first and the foremost question that intrigues is how thousands of strong state police machinery that has support of almost 40,000 central armed police personnel on ground and air support of drones and 11 IAF and BSF helicopters failed to track and fight such a large movement of Maoists.  In fact, without the popular support of the oppressed Adivasi people, it was not easy to fulfill this historical task.

In spite of deploying a large number of  armed force and  killing of Maoist Comrades and the  people, it has been proved that nothing has changed on the ground in the rural area,  particularly in the tribal heartland and the CPI (Maoist) remains well entrenched there, capable of calling shots almost at will. A well equipped force that engaged for nearly two hour gun battle in broad daylight on a state highway. It   symbolizes the strength, ability  and the  devotion of the Maoist Comrades. In fact, it was a symbolic action for those who always minimize the power and unity of the  oppressed people.

 In conclusion,

The people’s war in  India is not only the war of Indian People,  and the CPI (Maoist) is not fighting only for himself.  The people’s War in India  has a great universal importance. It is the part of the International Communist Movement.. Indian  expansionism is the common enemy in this region. We must have a  united struggle against Indian expansionism. In the coming days the reactionary Indian government will come out  using  all old  and new weapons– playing psychological war,  killing, maiming, arresting thousands of revolutionaries and supporters. And it is true, the power of the bullet will be futile in the face of  the people’s movement that will remain powerful as long as the  political and economical conditions exist to sustain it.

People’s War in India is rooted on Marxism-Leninism-Maoism. It is embedded on  the Great Naxalbari movement. The spark of Naxalbari is spreading all over the world. Naxalbari is not only the name of a place, it is the symbol of revolutionary value and lofty idle. It is an  everlasting Epic of Heroic Struggle and Sacrifice. Yes, “Naxalbari has no death; it rises again and again from the ashes, shattering the long, dark night of gloom and despair, becoming the siren song, awakening the people of India.”

Nepalese people are fighting against the Indian expansionism and  his Nepalese  followers of different faces. We  are fighting for the sake of our National Sovereignty and People’s liberation.  We passed the resolution in the 7^th National Congress of our Party that:  Now the nation has changed from Semi-colonial situation to Neo-colonial situation and as a whole Nepal has become Semi-feudal and Neo-colonial country. In this situation, compradors, operated and directed by Indian expansionism and feudal class have been emerged as class enemies of Nepalese people. It is today’s major contradiction of the Nepalese society.

 That’s why we  must  come out in the forefront to support the People’s War in India. It is the spirit of Proletariat Internationalism. We oppressed people of Nepal, who fought ten years People’s War and who are marching a head raising  the banner of CPN-Maoist, express our revolutionary  solidarity to the Comrades of CPI(Maoist). We express our warm and revolutionary greeting to those red fighters who led this daring attack  to the successful conclusion.

In conclusion, I would like to quote some lines of  agreat revolutionary poet Cherabanda Raju.

Guard!

Guard the green shoots of your dreams,

The flowering hopes in the corridors of your eyes.

Comrades ! East is Red.  The voice of truth and justice could not be muffled.

The future belongs to us.

अन्यत्र बासी भइसकेका साहित्यिक सिद्धान्त हामीकहाँ नयाँ र ताजा बन्दै र भन्दै निकै होहल्लाका साथ भित्रिने गर्छन् । राजनीतिले अग्रगामी बाटो छाड्न थालेपछि होहल्लाहरू  पनि चासोका विषय  बन्ने गर्छन् । पश्चिमी संसारमा उत्तरआधुनिकतावादको होहल्ला खास गरेर ‘अरब स्प्रिङ’ को उभार र ‘वाल स्ट्रिट’ मोर्चापछि इतिहासको विषय बनेर सदाका लागि थन्किएको छ । हामीकहाँ पनि केही दिन होहल्लाको विषय बनेको उत्तरअनाधुनिकतावाद असान्दर्भिक,  अवैज्ञानिक र सामाजिक चेतनाविरोधी साबित भएर त्रिवि पुस्तकालयको एउटा कुना रोज्न बाध्य भएको छ ।  अङ्ग्रेजीका केही मास्टरहरू र नेपाली विषयका एकाध टीकाकारहरूले केही दिन होहल्ला गरे पनि आमसर्जक र पाठक  कसैले पनि  यो विजातीय तत्वलाई आफ्नो ठान्न  र मान्न सकेनन् । उनीहरू ‘महाख्यानको अन्त्य’ भनेर होहल्ला गरिरहेका थिए, समय महाख्यानको निर्माण गरिरहेको थियो । नेपाली समाजमा यो बासी माल सडकमा डमरु बजाएर भीड जम्मा गरी नक्कली औषधी बिक्रि गर्ने ठगहरूको चटकेखेल भन्दा बढी केही साबित भएन ।

प्लेटो, नित्से, फुको, बेल, डेरिडा, ल्योतार्ड, बड्रिलार्ड र फुकोयामाहरू आउट डेटेड साबित भएपछि तिनका पक्षमा डमरु बजाउनेहरू फेरि पुरानो मालको नयाँ लेबल र ट्रेडमार्क उत्पादन गर्नतिर लागेका छन् । उनीहरू रछ्यानमा फ्यालिएको चिज जम्मा पारेर फेरि रप्फु भर्नतिर लागेका छन् । कतिपयहरू पेन्टागनका हाकिम स्यामुअल हटिङ्टनको ‘क्ल्यास अफ सिभिलाइजेसन’ लाई पछ्याउन थालेका छन्—जातीयता र पहिचानको राजनीतिका  नाममा नयाँ वितण्डावाद चलेको छ  । आफूलाई क्रान्तिकारी भन्नेहरूले समेत लेनिनको छातीमा बुट बजार्दै जातीय पहिचानका नाममा ‘नयाँ रामायण’ लेखन थाल्नु विडम्बनाकै विषय हो । त्यसै गरी कोही चाहिँ  भोगवादको नयाँ कोकशास्त्रको विनिर्माण गर्न लागेका छन् । वात्सायन र फ्रायडले समेत नपुगेर ती अहिले पोर्न फिल्महरूको विनिर्माण गर्न थालेका छन् । ‘नेपाली फिल्मलाई बढावा दिनु पर्यो,’  ‘प्रोत्साहित गर्नु पर्यो,‘भन्ने आवाज र नाराका साथ नेपाली फिल्ममा भित्रिएका ‘चपली हाइटहरू’ को प्रतिस्पर्धा चलेको छ र को भन्दा को बढी नाङ्गिने भन्ने कुरा सडकभरि लाजै लाग्दो गरी छरपस्ट भएको छ ।  हार खाएर कुना पसेका उत्तरआधुनिकतावादीहरूसित अङ्कमाल गरेर अहिले यही प्रवृत्ति नेपाली उपन्यासको समृद्ध परम्परामाथि धावा बोलिरहेको छ । कोण फरक छ, तर पाठकीय चेतना र सामाजिक मूल्यसंचेतनाको लेखकीय  र  सौन्दर्यशास्त्रीय भूमिकालाई विकृतीकरण र विभ्रमीकरणा गर्ने योजनबद्धता चाहिँ समान छ । समकालीन यथार्थको विद्रुपीकरण गर्दै सौन्दर्य आवश्यकता र सौन्दर्यरुचिमाथि धावा बोल्नु यसको मूल उद्देश्य रहेको छ ।  

राजनीतिले बाटो बिराउन थालेपछि साहित्यकारहरूले सचेतकको भूमिका खेल्नु आवश्यक हुन्छ ।  यतिबेर पनि सामाजिक दायित्वप्रति सचेत लेखकहरूको मोर्चा झन् दरिलो पार्नु आवश्यक थियो   ‘जाग जाग अब जाग’, ‘पहाडी  पुकार’ ‘आमाको सपना’ देखि यता पछिल्ला दिनसम्म नेपाली स्रष्टाहरू राजनीतिक र सांस्कृतिक बेथितिका विरुद्ध सडकमा निस्केकै हौँ र राष्ट्रिय स्वाधीनता र जनतन्त्रका विरुद्ध चारदलीय सिन्डकेटमार्फत विदेशी शक्तिहरूले खेलेको खतरनाक खेलका विरुद्ध अहिले पनि  हामी सडकमै छौँ । तर स्थिति झन्झन् बिग्रँदो  अवस्थामा छ ।

साहित्य–कलाको सामाजिक भूमिका र ऐतिहासिक सातत्यका सन्दर्भमा  अहिलेको स्थिति बडो गम्भीर छ । एकातिर नेपाली जनताले लडेको दस बर्से महान् जनयुद्धका मूल्य र आदर्शलाई विभ्रमीकरण गर्दै त्यसलाई असाध्यै भद्दा किसिमले प्रस्तुत गर्ने काम भएको छ भने अर्कोतिर साहित्यको सबैभन्दा उन्नत विधा उपन्यासलाई शून्यवादी वितण्डावाद र पोर्नोग्राफीमा विनिर्माण गर्ने होडबाजी चलिरहेको छ । गहन र गम्भीर लेखनलाई पाठकीय बजारबाट विस्थापित गर्ने र पाठकलाई उपभोक्तावाद, भोगवाद र स्वैरकल्पनाको झ्यालखानको कैदी बनाउने खतरनाक योजनाबद्धता नेपाली समाज र साहित्यमा चल्न थालेको छ । यस्तो योजनाबद्धताले  समाजकेद्रित उच्च कोटीको साहित्य, त्यसमा पनि मान्छेले उदात्त मूल्य निर्माणका लागि गरेका सङ्घर्ष र परिवर्तनचेतको महागाथालाई  ओझेलमा पार्न थालेको छ र गलत लेखन प्रचार र प्रशंसाका विषय हुन थालेका छन्  । स्तरीयताको अर्थ र परिभाषामाथि नै धावा बोलिएको छ, होहल्ला र सस्तो प्रचारबाजी स्तरीयता र लोकप्रियताका मापदण्ड बन्न थालेका छन् । औपन्यासिक मूल्यलाई  प्रकाशकहरू सेयरबजारको  नेप्सेसूचीमा रूपान्तरण गर्न थालेका छन् । यसको असर साहित्यका विभिन्न विधाका साथै समग्र सांस्कृतिक आन्दोलनमा पर्नु स्वाभाविक छ ।

पूर्ण रूपमा संभव नभए पनि केही हदसम्म यी  कुरालाई समालोचनामार्फत नियन्त्रण र नियोजन गर्नु आवश्यक थियो । तर समालोचनाको स्थिति झन् बेहाल भएको छ । गहन र अध्ययनशील समालोचनाको अभाव खट्किन थालेको छ । समालोचनाका क्षेत्रमा गहन र गम्भीर रूपले कलम चलाउनेहरू अल्छी हुन थालेका हुन् कि अथवा त्यसतर्फ रूचि घट्तै जान थालेको पो हो कि, अथवा गम्भीर र अध्ययनशील समालोचकहरू पनि विस्थापित हुँदै जान थालेका पो हुन् कि भन्ने लाग्न थालेको छ । समालोचनाहरू टिप्पणीमा झरेका छन् र समालोचकहरू सम्पादकका ‘यति शब्द र यति हरफमा नबढाई’ को निर्देशनका आज्ञापालकमा  सीमित हुन थालेका छन् । समालोचना प्राध्यापकीय क्लासनोट र केही  दैनिक पत्रिकाका स्तम्भ र अनलाइन खबरहरुका टिप्पणीमा विलय हुन थालेको देखिन् । यो कपी, पेस्ट र सर्टकटमा सिमित हुन थालेको छ । गेस पेपरका व्यापारीहरू र गाइड–लेखकहरू असली समालोचक हुन थालेपछि  गम्भीर समालोचनाको  हत्या हुनु स्वाभाविक छ । साझा प्रकाशन र गोरखापत्रका हाकिमहरूले मधुपर्क र गरिमाका पन्ना तोकेर सम्पादन र प्रकाशन गर्ने फरमान जारी गरेपछि ‘समालोचनाको मृत्युको घोषणा’ गर्नेहरूले हर्षबढाइँ गर्नु अस्वाभाविक होइन । गोरखापत्र लगायतका सञ्चारमाध्यमहरू पार्टीहरूको सम्पर्क कार्यालयमा रूपान्तरित हुनु र लेखकहरूको गरिमामय संस्था साझा प्रकाशन ब्युटिपार्लरमा परिणत हुनु साँच्चिकै टीठ लाग्दो कुरा हो ।

समालोचनाहरू केही नाम चलेका दैनिक पत्रिकाका स्तम्भ लेखकका टिपोट, गाइड र गेस पेपरमा सिमित हुन थालेपछि, कलेजका मास्टरहरूका क्लास नोटहरू अब्बल दर्जाका समालोचना दरिन थालेपछि सिर्जना र समालोचनाका क्षेत्रमा गम्भीर लेखन र अध्ययन– अनुसन्धानको स्थिति बेहाल हुनु स्वाभाविक छ ।  अहिले लेखन र प्रकाशन सबैतिर खोटा मोहरहरूको चकचकी छ । चारैतिर उपभोक्तवादको जगजगी छ । सुरुमै केही प्रति बाहिर निकालेर दोस्रो संस्करणको छाप लाग्छ । अहिले पाठक पढ्दैन, मिडिया पढ्छन् । रातारात  २०० को  बिक्री  २००० मा परिणत हुन्छ । बिक्तै नबिकेको पुस्तक लाखौँ  बिक्रीको समाचार बन्छ ।  किताब बिक्तैन मिडिया बिक्छ/बिकाउँछ र अँगार रातारात  सुनमा परिणत हुन्छ । राम्रा साहित्यिक पत्रिकाहरू विस्थापित हुन्छन् र   केही नाम चलेका पत्रपत्रिकाका शनिबारे पन्ना साहित्यिक आन्दोलन र अभियानका सारथी बन्छन् । लेखक बजारको मालमा फेरिन्छ,  गुण बिक्तैन, चल्दैन, ट्रेडमार्क र लोगो मात्र चल्छ । अनि साहित्यिक आन्दोलन हाटबजारमा परिणत हुन्छ—बढाबढ, घटाघट, मोलमोलाइ ।

यी सबैलाई चिरेर जाने काम मार्क्सवादी क्षेत्रले गर्नु आवश्यक थियो ।  मार्क्सवादी साहित्यिक–सांस्कृतिक आन्दोलन पनि माउबिनाको चल्लाजस्तो भएको छ । अगुवाहरू नै अनुभववाद र प्रभाववादको जंजालमा रुमलिएका छन् र भताभुङ्ग र लथालिङ्गको साक्षी  बनेर इतिहासको विकृतीकरणमाथि लालमोहर ठोकिरहेका छन् । क्षेत्रीयतावाद र प्रभाववादी सङ्कीर्णतावादका कारण त्यहाँ पनि झारपात–पतिङ्गरहरूको रजगज चलेको छ ।  वाघको छालामा स्यालहरूको रजाइँ छ, फ्याउराहरूको चुरीफुरी बढेको छ र क्षमतावानहरू पाखामा बसेर सबै चिज टुलुटुलु हेर्न  बाध्य पारिएका छन् । मार्क्सवादी तप्कासित ऊर्जाशील  र क्षमतावान शक्ति भएर पनि योजनाबद्धताको अभावमा यसले लेखन र वैचारिक क्षेत्रमा दरिलो  हस्तक्षेप गर्न सकेको छैन । मात्रा फरक होला, नरमगरम सबैतिर खोटा मोहरहरूको चकचकी र जगजगी छ । इतिहासका निर्माताहरूका छातीमा वनसाङ्लाहरू परेड खेलिरहेका छन्  र इमानदार, स्वाभिमानी र सङ्घर्षशील सर्जकहरू जनवादी केन्द्रीयताका नाममा ‘ठीकठीक’ भन्दै ताली पिट्न बाध्य छन् । कस्तो विडम्बना !

अहिलेको स्थिति साहित्य तथा कलालाई समाज रूपान्तरणको महत्वपूर्ण हतियार मान्ने मार्क्सवादी लेखक–समालोचकहरूका लागि मात्र नभएर साहित्य र समाजको गतिशील सम्बन्धमा विश्वास राखने गम्भीर लेखन र चिन्तनका पक्षधर सबै स्रष्टाहरूका लागि साँच्चिकै चुनौतीको विषय बनेको छ  । साहित्यकै अपहरण हुन लागेको यस्तो बेला  कलम वैचारिक सङ्घर्ष र समाज रूपान्तरणको एउटा सशक्त माध्यम हो भन्ने कुरामा विश्वास राखनेहरू नयाँ किसिमले मोर्चाबद्ध हुनुको विकल्प छैन ।
